The latest installment in our regular Q&A spotlight session where we sit down with members of the FJY team to find out a little bit more about what exactly they do here and what makes them tick.
This Month: Kati Krause
What would you do for a career if you weren’t doing this?
If I were not an associate financial advisor, I would be a college football coach at a division one university. I would work hard to recruit coaches and players that buy-in to a team with an air-raid approach to offense, but also realize you cannot win championships without a rock-solid defense.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?
If I could live anywhere, I would choose West Texas every time. A West Texan is determined, passionate, hard-working and more than willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Midland is home to those that embody this West Texas spirit. I’ve grown to prefer the dry heat over the humidity and even appreciate the breezy spring days. Traffic is rarely an issue, and “rush hour” means it might take you 20 minutes to get across town rather than 10. Good luck finding a prettier sunset or sunrise than the ones West Texans get to appreciate every day. I’m happy to call Midland and West Texas home, and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!
What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
I would buy a ski-in/ski-out mansion in Crested Butte, Colorado.
Where is your favorite place to be (and why)?
On the back porch at my parent’s home in Stephenville, TX. Whether it’s spending summer nights grilling out and enjoying a baseball game, or roasting s’ mores in the fireplace while watching college football in the fall, the porch is the best place to spend time with our family and friends.
