It’s All About Leadership

By Elizabeth Murphy, CEO, Leadership Fairfax

Leadership Fairfax, a non-profit corporation located in Vienna, VA, has been developing community leaders in the county since 1988. LFI’s 1,500 person alumni network connects the Fairfax County community across all sectors of engagement – public, private, and non-profit. Leadership Fairfax is proud of its 25-year legacy of bringing the best and brightest together to create a synergy that not only inspires better managers and directors, but also connects them and their companies to the community and involves them in making the region a better place to live and work.

Through its three dynamic programs, Leadership Fairfax continues to educate, prepare, inspire, and connect leaders.  Whether you are an experienced executive (LFI), a rising star (Emerging Leaders), or newly retired with a wealth of knowledge and skills (Lifetime Leaders), participation in a Leadership Fairfax program has the potential to change your life.

The Leadership Fairfax (LFI) Program is designed for established leaders, mid-level to senior, from all walks of life. The program, built around a comprehensive 10-month curriculum of community issues and skills development, provides exposure to leaders in business, government, and the community; and access to a network of professional individuals who are influencers, decision-makers, and resources in Northern Virginia. Along with a focus on leadership competencies and skills, each class is also divided into teams of 8-9. Each team has the responsibility to research a current issue in the county, and present a day of content to the rest of the class to educate and inspire them to action.

Are you ready to take the next step in your development as a leader? Join LFI at one of their free information sessions to preview the upcoming LFI 2014 and ELI 2014 programs. During these sessions, alumni of the programs share their personal stories about their involvement in the class, give specifics about time commitment and costs, and provide insight into how each class benefits the participants.  For more information, or to RSVP for a session, contact Jolie Smith, Business Development Director, by phone (703.752.7553) or by email ().
