I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to be a summer associate for FJY Financial, as FJY has consistently epitomized the profession of financial planning and what it entails to truly live by a fiduciary standard. FJY is committed to serving their clients in the best way possible, through hard work and attention to detail, to which I am eager to add to this summer.
Growing up in a family of immigrants, I quickly realized what it meant to truly work hard, knowing that simply doing the bare minimum wouldn’t cut it in the real world. Having held some sort of job since I was 16 years old, I quickly realized the value of a dollar, and with this, understood how every preventative measure must be taken to ensure that each client is being given the best possible advice. Having seen my sister enter the field of medicine, I was able to see first-hand the importance of connecting with people, and how earning trust is the biggest mountain to climb, yet, is the most rewarding.
I attend Virginia Tech, where I plan to graduate in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. At Virginia Tech, I am a student in the CFP Certification Education Track in the undergraduate Finance program. I participate in the Financial Planning Association, where we work to bring financial planners from across the east coast to come speak and share some insight concerning the profession. I believe that my education and associated work experience, in addition to the experience I will be gaining this summer, will allow me to succeed as a financial planner in the future.
I am very much looking forward to the summer and working for FJY. The experience and technical skills that I will receive from interning for FJY Financial will help me become the sort of financial planner I know that I can one day be.
