Fama’s Nobel Prize

Eugene F. Fama, who serves on the Board of Directors and the Investment Policy Committee of Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA), has been awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economics.  Professor Fama’s groundbreaking work on asset pricing and markets inspired the founding of Dimensional, and his ongoing contributions have guided Dimensional’s investment approach for more than three decades.  Professor Fama developed the efficient market hypothesis, and is widely recognized as the “father of modern finance.”  He is the Robert R. McCormick Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago.  To hear Professor Fama discuss the evolution of finance, click here.  For the press release of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announcing the award, see here.  -Marjorie
