Our Thoughts

FJY News

It’s not every quarter that I have the great pleasure of introducing you to so many new team members at FJY. It has been a busy few months for us, an important few months in which we were able to realize some of the most important elements of the long term vision of our firm. The heart and soul of FJY is our people. We have always put a focus on our staff, hiring and developing the best talent from around the country.  We believe that in order to continue to serve our clients with a consistent first class experience and to continue to grow and develop as a firm, we need new talent.  To that end, allow me to introduce Larry Adams, Kelly McNerney, Morgan McGovern, Jennifer Pritchard, and Krysta Jolicoeur. (Note: If you click on their names you will be taken to their individual biography on our website). We are excited that this group of hires includes top candidates from three of the best financial planning programs in the country!

Larry AdamsLarry joins us as a Partner, and incoming CFO, while also supporting clients in the Midland, TX office as a Senior Financial Advisor. In 2005, Larry started a firm named LifePointe Financial Partners, which will merge with FJY later this summer. We (at FJY) have known Larry for several years, as his daughter is none other than our own Laurie Belew!  When the opportunity presented itself to work with Larry, we were really excited to add his knowledge and expertise on 401(k)s and retirement planning to the diverse skillset of the existing FJY team.  Larry is a RFC (Registered Financial Consultant) and holds memberships in the IARFC (International Association of Registered Financial Consultants) and FPA (Financial Planning Association).

Larry will travel to Reston periodically, and will be based in our Midland office.

Kelly McNerneyKelly joins us as an Associate Financial Advisor from William Paterson University’s Personal Financial Planning program. At WPU Kelly was the President of the WPU FPA Student Chapter and was awarded the TD Ameritrade Institutional NextGen Scholarship. At the conclusion of her training program in late August, Kelly will join several client teams in a support role.  If you don’t see Kelly in your next meeting, you will see her posting on our blog each month, as well as in Investment News, as they are tracking her first year as an advisor in an ongoing editorial in 2014.

Kelly will be based in our Reston office.

Morgan McGovern – Morgan joins us as a Paraplanner from Virginia Tech’s Personal Financial Planning program. The VT PFP program is often voted as one of the top 10 programs in the nation (most recently by Financial Planning Magazine). As a Paraplanner, Morgan has the privilege of working with all of FJY’s clients, processing transactions and paperwork with the custodians (Schwab, Fidelity, and others), supporting our financial advisors, as well as onboarding new clients. This is a vital role for FJY, and Morgan is the perfect person for this job.

Morgan will be based in the Reston office.

Jennifer Pritchard – Jennifer joins us from Texas Tech university as a Summer Associate and will continue working part-time in the fall. She graduates from TTU in December, when she will  join us full time as a Paraplanner. In a role similar to Morgan’s role in Reston, Jennifer will support FJY’s clients in Texas, acting as the primary contact with our custodians and providing back office support for Larry and Laurie.

Jennifer will be based in the Midland office.

Krysta Jolicoeur  – Last, but not least, is Krysta, who joined FJY in April. Many of you have either met or spoken to Krysta already, and we thank you for making her feel so welcome. Krysta joins us as a dedicated Administrative Assistant in the Reston office; supporting both Reston and Texas (we love technology and the ability to do this!) Krysta supports the entire team here by answering phones, greeting clients, keeping us organized, and handling important projects throughout the year.
