Since the inception of FJY, we have been committed to finding and developing young talent. A huge component of this mission is the internship program we’ve developed over the past eleven years, and of which we’re extremely proud. It’s allowed us the opportunity to work with some exceptional students (two of whom we later hired full-time), and the firm as a whole has benefitted tremendously from their talents.
In an effort to share our hard-earned knowledge with other planning firms, we published a white paper back in 2011, Implementing Internships, which is widely regarded as the definitive resource for financial planners who want to know the whys, whats, and hows of running a successful internship program.
We’re excited to announce that we’ve spent the last few months updating that paper to reflect how the program has grown and improved over the last seven years, and we plan to relaunch it within the next several weeks. In the meantime, CEO Jon Yankee sat down with acclaimed financial blogger (and planner) Michael Kitces to provide a sneak peek at our thoughts on a well-run summer internship program.
